Chocolate Martini

This Chocolate Martini is so rich and decadent you won't be able to put it down. Made with three simple ingredients it's the solid way to end a meal on special occasions or treat yourself with the ultimate chocolate fix!

This Chocolate Martini is INSANE! It's the ultimate dessert or sweet treat when you need that chocolate fix because c'mon we all NEED chocolate at some point, right?!

Whenever we feel like a smooth and silky chocolate dessert we always crave our chocolate panna cotta it's rich and chocolatey and always hits the spot.

The problem is, it needs time to set in the fridge and that ain't good for last minute cravings.

This Chocolate Martini, however, takes 2 minutes to whip up and never disappoints! We mean it's pretty boozy like we l Bombardino (a boozy Italian Eggnog Cocktail) which we LOVE but it's not something you'd drink all night. One (or two) is definitely enough like dessert!

What is Chocolate Martini Made of?

There are only 3 simple ingredients in this chocolate martini plus the optional garnish of whipped cream and chocolate shavings which is SO worth it

  • Cream de Cacao – a dark chocolate flavoured liqueur made from cacao beans. We used dark creme de cacao by Bols brand which also has subtle hints of orange and vanilla, good!
  • Chocolate Baileys – creamy, rich and good the chocolate baileys adds an extra creamy chocolate hit that's decadent and luxurious.
  • Vodka – go for a higher quality brand as cheaper vodkas don't have a great taste.
  • Whipped cream (optional) – this is totally optional and we love this extra step on special occasions. top with a small spoonful of whipped cream and chocolate shavings for the ultimate indulgence!

Top Tips for Making Chocolate Martini

  • If you don't have chocolate Baileys you can use another chocolate liqueur like Godiva Chocolate Liqueur or regular Baileys. If you do use regular Baileys then the cocktail won't have a rich, chocolatey flavour it'll be more subtle (but still good).
  • You can use dark or light creme de cacao. We used dark for a darker and richer looking cocktail.
  • To make the martini extra decadent you can top it with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
  • Try adding a swirl of chocolate sauce to the glasses for pouring the cocktail. It looks so impressive and gives an extra chocolate kick to the drink!
  • If you'd prefer the drink at room temperature and not cold skip the ice and mix all the ingredients as normal although We recommend serving it cold as the liqueurs are warming.
  • You can't go wrong with the measurements as long as you keep them equal.

Why Not Try It Warm?

You can also warm the cocktail mixture up in a saucepan (keep it on a low heat and don't let it boil) and pour it into a small heatproof glass or small mug before topping with whipped cream, chocolate shavings or sauce.

Take a look at this Italian Eggnog Cocktail as an example, it's small, served warm but mighty powerful!
